Kalen - Shooting stuff with Grandpa!

 

I just got got back from shooting with my Grandpa. I shot a 22 shot gun.(22 is good for to twelve.) I'm a relly good shooter. I had a lot of fun.

Kalen-Swimming

Today we went swimming with Marie and baby Sam. When we got there Gwen and I did pencil dives and cannonballs. Gwen and I jumped together and made a big splash. Then my Grandma and Reece came. Then we played whoever did the biggest splash wins! After that we went in the baby pool. We played tag in the baby pool. I love playing tag. It was so easy because the pool is so small. After that we dried off. Then we went home. At home we had family home evening. For family home evening we all picked a name. The name that you got would be your secret buddy. Were doing secret buddies to learn how to serve each other.

Kalen- Swimming with my freind Joe.

Yesterday my family went swimming with the Stepans. Joe and I did races in the baby pool. Joe cheated by jumping out of the pool and ran to the finish line. We did pencil dives in the deep end. I tricked Joe when he said jump and then I didn't jump. Then he did it to me. Then we swam to the little pool. I had to go with my mom to go get my scout shirt on because Joe's mom was going to take Joe and I to scouts. This morning my Grandma took us to Cup and Saucers.

Kalen-The new baby!

A couple days ago my mom had a new baby! His name is Shane. He sleeps a lot. I love holding him. When he sleeps he smiles. He is always hungry. He can't eat anything but milk. His eyes are blue. He doesn't cry that much.

Kalen- Driving to my grandma's house

Yesterday we drove to our Grandma's house.(Which is five hours away!) We stopped at Burgerking for dinner. We brought two movies. We brought Sword and the Stone and Cheaper by the Dozen. We watched Sword and the Stone first then Cheaper by the Dozen.
Reece and I looked at a book about animals. Reece and I tried to go to sleep. I was so big I had to lay on the ground to fall a sleep. I was the only one that was awake when we got to our Grandma's house. The next day we went to church. On the way back my mom took us to see some horses that were by the church. One horse was lying down on the dirt! We also saw baby horses! Reece loves animals, he did not want to leave.

Kalen- Play date with my friend Jake.

Yesterday we had a play date with my friend Jake. Jake had a big water slide. So we brought our bathing suits. When we got there we set up the water slide. When it was done being set up we turned on the water. Then we all climbed up the ladder and jumped down the slide. Then we had a competition. Whoever did the best trick when they came down would win the competition. After that we all went and ate some cookies. They were so good. Then we went back to the water slide. This time we aleld on to each other and we all went down at the same time! We also jumped on the trampling to dry off. After drying off we played swords. Jake's sister went and got her bunny and her guinea pig. We all got a chance to hold the pets. Then we had to go home.

Kalen - Celebrating my moms birthday at my Grandpa's house

Yesterday we went to my Grandpas house to celebrate my moms birthday! When we got there we went to dinner at Chinese food.
There was some really good food. We got orange chicken, white rice,brown rice, beef, and sweet and sour soup. When we were done eating we went home to have a birthday party for my mom. We had chocolate cake. It was really good. Then we went to the park. At the park Dad and I played a game were we would get on a swing, and who ever jumped the farthest off the swing won. After that we went home.

Kalen- Fishing and camping with my grandpa!

A couple of days ago my Grandpa and I went camping. He picked me up at my house. We went to Trader Joe's to get some food. For breakfast first we got some eggs and pancakes. For dinner we got steak, carrots and potatoes. Then we went to his house to get the tent,cooking stuff,plates, and fishing stuff. (Because we were going fishing the next day.). We could not find the stove! We looked all over for the stove. Finely Grandpa said we would have to by a stove. When we got to the store we looked for a stove. We found a stove in the camping stuff in the store. When we were done paying we drove to the camp site. When we got to the camp site we set up the tent. Then we got our sleeping bags into the tent. I got all the cooking stuff out. We were going to make a fire but then I said lets go fishing today and the next day. My grandpa said that was a good idea. So we got our fishing stuff and walked to the beach. We used shrimp for the bait. We were sitting down when I got a bite. So I reeled the fishing rod in but their was no fish and there was no bait. I kept caching seaweed on my line of string. It was getting late so we went back to are campsite. We started a fire and roasted marshmallows. I had one and my Grandpa had two. When we were done we went in the tent and got in are sleeping bags. We read scary stories. My favorite story was THE ARMY THAT DISSAPEARED. Then we went to sleep. The next day we woke up, and made breakfast. For breakfast we had eggs and bacon and lots of fresh fruit. Then we got in the car and went to the pier with our fishing gear. When we got there we put together a fishing reel. My Grandpa showed me how to cast the line out into the sea. We had three fishing poles. Each one of the fishing poles had different bait on it. We were waiting for a long time. Finally, my fishing pole had a bite. I slowly reeled the fishing line in, when it was almost out of the water I saw that I had caught a star fish! But, before I could grab it, it fell off. We had to go back to our camp site to pack up. Later that day my mom and the rest of my sisters and brother met us at my Grandpa's house. Mom took us to the beach where we played in the ocean and boogie boarded. We saw fish in the waves. Afterward we went out for pizza and then Grandpa made us a fire in his roasting pit outside and we roasted marshmallows! Thank you Grandpa for taking me camping I had a great time and I love you. Goodbye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kalen- Hiking with the Stepan boys.

Well, today we went hiking with the Stepan boys. We went and picked Joe and Kent up from their house. When we got to the trail we were all running. Then we got really tired. We saw a mine on the hike. The mine was really big. I got to look in it! When we pasted the mine we stared going up hill. We saw a lizard. It was a blue belly lizard. I tried to catch it but it ran away into the bushes. We all saw a lot of butterfly's. They were all different colors. There was two small bridges. I ran ahead with Kent and we hid next to the car. When Joe came we jumped out we scared him! In the car I read my book called THE GREAT AIRPORT MYSTERY. When we got to the Stepan house we went and watched the MEMORIAL DAY PARADE! Sharky was there. There was also police on horses! We had Fun!

Kalen- My talk.

Well, today is Sunday. Last Sunday I was asked to give the talk! So today I gave my talk. Here is my talk, the theme was baptism and confirmation are ordinances that bless our family. "The 4th article of faith reads: We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the gospel are first Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, second: Repentance, Third baptism by immersion for the remission of sins, and fourth laying on of hands for the gift of the holy ghost. When we have faith in Jesus Christ we want to follow him. He has promised us that if we repent and be baptized we will be clean. We are also able to repent every time we take the sacrament on Sunday at church. When we take the sacrament we become as clean as when we were baptized. When I was baptized I felt happy because I was following Jesus' plan. After being baptized we are able to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. This allows the Holy Ghost to talk to you, to comfort you and to guide you. I'm grateful that my dad was able to give me the gift of the Holy Ghost. I am very grateful for the spirit in my life. One night, a couple of months ago, our family was coming home from the Temple with the Hales kids. Mom started having problems with the new baby in her tummy, we drove straight to the hospital. We waited in the van while mom and dad went into the hospital. While we waited, we were scared for mom and the baby. We all decided to say a prayer to ask that mom and the baby would be ok. We all felt the spirit and I was comforted that mom would be ok. I am grateful for baptism and the Holy Ghost. I know the church is true and that Heavenly Father loves us. I know that we are blessed through baptism and the Holy Ghost. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Kalen- Art class!

Well, yesterday was Wednesday. On Wednesday Gwen and I got to go to ART CLASS!!! When we got there I started drawing a ROCKET SHIP. I also outlined it with oil pastel. Then I painted it! On the ROCKET SHIP their was a lot of yellow,red,green and blue. I did the the back round Green for the grass and the blue for the sky. Then I finished it. My next thing I did was a soft pastel tree. First I had to draw the tree. Then I did the back round. The back round was red. Right as I was going to start the back round we had to clean up. For smiley work we did an ocean. The ocean was on two pages. I drew a shark,fish,crab, and a whale. When we got home my mom helped me color the ocean. She showed me how to blend the pastel colors in the ocean fast by using a paper towel. It turned out to be really good.

Kalen- Picking up trash and going to the park!

Last night was family home evening. Dad,Gwen,Reece,Georgia, and I went on a walk picking up trash for family home evening. My mom was at Enrichment night. I found lots of trash. Dad said that we would walk to the park picking up trash and then play at the park! When we got to the park my sister Gwen said she was going to play in the sand box. Reece and I wanted to play in the sand box too. In the sand box there was a little waterfall that water was coming down. So we decided to build little streams with water running down them. My sister Gwen was bossing us around, so I got my dad and he told her to stop bossing us around. When we got home we took a quick bath. I had to take a bath to help wash every ones hair. Then we went to bed.

Kalen- Swimming with my friend Sam and playing capture the girls in the pool!

Yesterday, I wanted to go swimming with the Hales. My mom said that she would call the Hales. The Hales said yes! When we got to the pool Sam and I went to the deep end, and jumped right in. Sam and I wanted to play capture the girls. So we went to the other side of the pool. Sam and I got out and jumped on Emma! Our plan was to get one of the girls to swim into the deep end. My sister Gwen we captured and got her to swim in the deep end. Emma tried to save Gwen but I made her turn around. Gwen escaped by climbing out of the pool and walked to the other side. Me and Sam wanted to get out and go play Ping Pong in the game room. When we got in the game room there were no balls! So we played a game called Pool. Sam beat me at Pool. Then the Hales had to go.

Kalen- The first day of swimming in the year!

A couple of days ago it was really hot. So my Aunt Kerri, my cousin Kaitlin, Gwen, Reece, Grandma, Grandpa, mom, dad, and me decided to go to the pool! When we got there I jumped right in and forgot to put on sunscreen! I had to get out dry off and get sunscreen on. My dad wanted to have a barbecue. My grandma, grandpa and my mom went to get the hot dogs the hamburgers and the watermelon and stuff like that. While they were gone I went and played pieing pong in the game room. But their were no balls! But their were other games. my brother Reece and I played ice hokey. When we were done I wanted to go in the pool. But then dinner was ready. My favorite food on
the table was the hot dogs. When I was finished I went in the pool. GOOD BYE!!!

Kalen- Camping!

Yesterday was the father and sons camp out! My dad picked me up at tennis lessons. We stopped at The Happy Hound. Reece and I had a corn dog and my dad had a hamburger. It was a long drive to the campsite. I even got car sick. But finely we got their. We stopped at my friend Sam's campsite. We played catch for about 20 minutes. Then we went to are campsite. We had a big tent. It could fit about 8 men in our tent. we went to the camp fire to roast marshmallows. While we were roasting marshmallows the bishop talked about the priesthood. When he was done talking A couple of boys and me played hide and go seek. It was hard to find the hiders. Then I went to bed with Reece and my dad. The next morning We had breakfast. Joe,Kent,Matt,dad and I play catch. We played catch with baseballs. then It was time to go. We had lots of fun!

Kalen- Geting four Hardy Boys books!

Well, today we had to go to Costco to get some food. I brought my spending money with me to buy Hardy boys books. When we got there we wanted to buy some lunch first. But mom said that we were going to get buy our groceries first. So we went inside and went shopping. When we were done we went to Trader Joe's. Gwen and I stayed in the car. Mom took about 15 minutes in Trader Joe's. When mom got in the car she said that we could go buy the books that I wanted to buy. So we drove the car to the bookstore. Mom, Reece and I went in the store and went to the Hardy Boys book shelf. I had 27 dollars and some change. My mom said I probably had enough money to bye four Hardy Boys books. So I picked out number 8 THE MYSTERY OF THE CABIN ISLAND, number 9 THE GREAT AIRPORT MYSTERY, number 10 WHAT HAPPENED AT MIDNIGHT and number 11 WHILE THE CLOCK TICKED. So we took them over to the cash register. When it was our turn we counted my money. I only had to have one more dollar to buy four of them. Mom said that she would give me one more dollar to buy them. So I said yes. Then we went home.
At home we all unloaded the car.

Kalen- Sara came over!

Today my mom had to go to the doctors office. So Sara came over to babysit us. Sara brought her little sister over. Her little sister is Gwen's friend. When mom left I wanted to spy on my sister. So I had Reece my little brother go and tell them that Sara wanted them. When they were down stairs I went in my sisters room and stole some Polly Pockets. When the girls went back to their room I ran down stairs with the Polly Pockets. I hid them in the closet. When I went back up stairs I heard Sara saying to get the Polly Pockets and give them to my sister! So I ran down stairs and opened the closet and took the Polly Pockets out. Reece then ran after me. But I was too fast. I hid in my room. Then mom came. we had to take Sara and her little sister Lilly home. When we were done dropping them off at there house we went to piano lessons! BYE!!!

Kalen- We went to Joe's house!

Today we went to Joe's house. When we got there Joe,Kent,Jeff and Cameron were playing dodge ball. So Gwen,Reece and I played to. It was so fun I was the only one who got Kent out. Kent got me out twice. Then it was time to go have lunch. For lunch we had Macaroni and Cheese. I love Macaroni and Cheese. Do you know what is funny I do not like cheese but I like Macaroni and Cheese! When we were eating lunch Joe's mom gave us some cookies. They were good. Then we played Nerf guns. Me and Joe were on a team and the rest of them were on Kent's team. We got a lot of guns. I had a small one and a big long one. Kent used a Nerf gun that shot by itself. We all had a light saber. We were all down stairs fighting. Me and Joe wanted to go to the park. So we all went to the park! At the park we played baseball. I hit a home run! Then Cameron wanted to play tag. Kent was it first. he tagged me. So then I ran after Cameron. But he was to fast, so I had to Run after Kent. I tagged Kent. Then Joe asked me if I wanted to play in the sandbox. They all buried me. Than my mom came. When we got home I got ready for our camp out!

Kalen- The strange night.

Well, yesterday me and dad wanted to go to tennis. So when we were in the car we saw a car that ran out of gas. My dad got out of the car and went to help. The guy that we helped was a scout leader! I got out of the car and helped push the car with the other kids that were in BOY SCOUTS. Then we saw a woman screaming in her car! Then police came and surrounded her car. The police said get out of your car! The women would not get out of her car. So the police dragged the women out of her car. The police threw the women on the ground and hand cuffed the women! The the police put her in the police car and drove off. We were all saying listen to the police. Dad and I offered to drive the scout leader and boys to the park where their meeting was. They said yes. So we drove them off to the park. Then we went to the tennis court. But there were no tennis courts open! Dad said that we should go home. When we got home I started building a Lego set. I got it for finishing my chart. I think we went to tennis only to help the people.

Kalen- Last night we played tennis

Well, last night Gwen, dad and I went to play tennis. At tennis it was windy. So all our balls were all over the place! Dad and I played some matches, while Gwen played with her little wagon. Gwen's wagon kept moving away from her because it was windy. When we were going home we decided to stop and get some hot chocolate. Gwen and I had a small hot chocolate, and my dad had a big hot chocolate. When we were there dad said we could go out side for a minute or two. I spied on Gwen. She only saw me one time! When we got home my mom was still at the gym with Reece and Georgia. So dad read us THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA! It is about a man who caught a big fish. We have not finished it yet. Then me and Gwen went in our beds and read our books. I am reading the HARDY BOYS, I am on number seven called THE SECRET OF THE CAVES. My sister is reading the WEATHER FAIRY'S. We were almost a sleep when my mom came home.
