Mother's Day 2015

They always give me a great Mother's Day but this year they really outdid themselves.  All week long the older kids would pull the younger kids aside shushing them and telling them to keep "the surprises" a secret.  The older kids helped their younger sibling make cards, secretly in their rooms, it was too cute.  The morning of the actual day Gwyneth and Georgia woke up at 6:30am and made whole wheat Blueberry/Banana Muffins with cut up fruit, scrambled eggs and juice.  It was the best.  

The older kids wrote me long letters, about why I am a good mom and the like.  One of them wrote that I am the greatest mom because I help him to feel the spirit.  My kids are wonderful.  Sometimes, I don't feel like I deserve them.  They are truly good to me.  They care about me and what is going on with me.  Gwyneth, along with her letter to me, typed 42 reasons as to why I am the greatest mother, cut them into strips and placed them in a jar.  I pull one out each night and read it.  They really are the greatest kids and we are blessed beyond to have them.

As if it couldn't get any better, Gwyneth also decorated our mirror with the most precious quotes about mothers and motherhood.  I felt so incredibly loved and special on Mother's Day.  It couldn't have been any better.  I love my kids so much, they are the best.  

Portola State Park Camping Trip...

I miss my blog and I am currently making some changes with it, some updates and things like that.  I have so many posts to write and so little time.  

We recently went camping with our great friends.  They have two kids that are the same ages as two of our kids.  We all went to Portola Redwood State Park and had a blast.  One of the first things the kids discovered were Banana Slugs.  As you can see Summer was trying so hard to smile at the slug but she expressed more disgust than anything.  Ha!

Finally, she warmed up to the slugs and by the end of it all she was "petting" them.  :)  See below....

The hammock was the hit and highlight of the camping trip.  They played in it for hours...

Georgia found this caterpillar type of worm and William would not let go of it, I'm afraid it ended up paying the consequences for it... :(

Christine was so awesome to remember to bring games.  The kids played headbands for about two hours.

 We ended each night with Smore's, as there is no better way.  We were also spoiled by Christine because she prepared a dutch oven meatball meal for our families the second evening.  We all had so much fun.  The weather was great, food was good, kids were kids and there is nothing better than camping with great friends.
